3rd Jun 2020

Good morning.

Well, that’s a change in the weather. It was great to get a wee bit of rain last night. Hopefully it will only rain at night and we can enjoy being outside during the day. If it continues to rain, that could give you an opportunity to do some extra reading, use Mathletics, or enter this great competition. The Health & Safety Executive for Northern Ireland, “Be aware kids – Child safety on farms.’ Competition started on Monday. You can access detail on their website at: www.hseni.gov.uk We will also send out the finer details via message later and these will also be available on our school website. This week’s theme is about the dangers from slurry.

How’s your goal for this week going? Have you restarted your routine? Are you keeping an eye on your families routine?

Remember to let your teachers see what you’ve been up to on Seesaw. Teacher’s will have been in touch this week if they haven’t heard form you in a little while to see how you are doing. If you’re having any difficulties, contact the school office. Any issues with devices or getting online, please let us know as well. Tel. 02844614145 We’ll do our best to help you out.

Week 4 of Healthy Kidz Virtual Sports Day and our events are Marathon Challenge and Create your own Obstacle Course. Instructions are on the school website under the Children’s tab. A couple of weeks ago, an obstacle course was shared on Seesaw where you had to name plants in Latin to get through it. Erin & Caragh had this great idea. Any other obstacle course ideas out there?

P4, P5, P6, P7 have been working on Mathletics and a large number have received their first certificates. Well done everyone. P3 have their log in details and some have already earned their bronze certificates! We are learning how it works as you complete the assigned tasks, so bear with us please. Some children have not logged in yet and we need them to do so before the end of this week.

Accelerated Reader is still available for the P4-P7 children. While there have been many of you taking quizzes, a number have not and we need you to do so before the end of term. 84% of children have taken at least one AR quiz, while some children have taken as many as 21 quizzes! Well done. If you’re having issues logging in, use the information on our website to help. You must use the link specific to our school: https://ukhosted6.renlearn.co.uk/2124881/Public/RPM/Login/Login.aspx?srcID=s

Thanks to everyone for your great pictures. Send us a photo please. If you'd like to share pics, please e-mail to: info@stpatrickspssaul.downpatrick.ni.sch.uk Thanks Lucie for your great birthday pic.

Remember to keep praying for those who are sick or alone and those people who are working so hard to look after them. Pray for everyone who is so busy looking after you and still working to ensure we have everything we need. We are so grateful.

Stay safe.

Today’s joke:

Why did the P5 eat their homework?

Because Mrs Sealey said it was a piece of cake!
