15th May 2020

Good morning – Hopefully everyone is staying safe and well. Fabulous Friday is here and I know that some of you work extra hard during the week so that you can have an easier day on a Friday. What a brilliant idea. Makes the weekend even better.

Today on Newsdesk they are talking about the roadmap to recovery. There’s a very interesting video on Danish children returning to school. While we won’t be returning anytime soon it seems, we can think about it. A great idea is to have a Wish jar. Each day put a wish in the jar of something you’d like to do when lockdown is over. Visit a grandparent. Go for an ice-cream. Play golf (Oh Please!!!) Then when we are allowed to get back to normal, we could take one of our wishes out and actually do it.

Junior Newsdesk focuses on Postcard stories. Belfast author Jan Carson decided to write a postcard story every day for a year. Short stories that she shared with people. What a challenge! You could write a postcard and send it to someone who is alone, or perhaps an old person who lives nearby and has been stuck inside this whole time.

Keep practising for Healthy Kidz Virtual Sports Day. Go to: https://tinyurl.com/ycszfmwy for all of the details. I’ll be getting an update on how you’re all doing later.

P7s have started using our Maths programme, Mathletics. Well done to everyone who has had a go. We’ll have P6. P5 and P4 up and running next week.

Thanks to everyone for your great pictures. I've also seen some of them on Seesaw, but cannot use these on our website. If you'd like to share pics, please e-mail to: info@stpatrickspssaul.downpatrick.ni.sch.uk

Remember to keep praying for those who are sick or alone and those people who are working so hard to look after them. Pray for everyone who is so busy looking after you and still working to ensure we have everything we need. We are so grateful.

Enjoy your weekend and stay safe.

Today’s joke:

Why can’t you trust zookeepers?
They love cheetahs.
