Dynamic Dance‑a‑Thon Drives Lenten Appeal

1st Apr 2026

We were all buzzing with excitement as we held our Sponsored Dance‑a‑Thon in support of our Lenten Appeal. From start to finish, St Patrick's was bursting with music, movement, and smiling faces.

The day kicked off with a vigorous, whole‑school warm‑up led by Alison and Riona from Healthy Kidz, who had everyone stretching, jumping, and dancing with enthusiasm. Their energy set the perfect tone for what would become a wonderfully active and joyful day.

Throughout the event, each class took their turn on the dance floor, enjoying a mix of routines, games, and freestyle fun. Pupils encouraged one another, celebrated each class’s effort, and showed fantastic stamina as they danced together from morning until home time.

What made the day truly special was the incredible sense of community and generosity. P7s helped the P1s and other classes helped each other as well - our big St Patrick's family enjoying the craic with each other for such a good cause.

Thank You

We are delighted to announce that our Dance‑a‑Thon along with the Easter raffles and some very generous donations raised an amazing total of £4,577.35! This outstanding achievement is a testament to the enthusiasm of our pupils and the generosity of our families and community.

A heartfelt thank‑you to:

  • Alison and Riona from Healthy Kidz for leading the event with such energy, expertise, and encouragement.
  • All pupils who danced their hearts out from morning until afternoon.
  • Families, friends, and supporters who sponsored our dancers so generously.
  • Staff members who helped organise, supervise, and—of course—join in with the fun!
  • Everyone who donated Easter eggs and the array of fabulous prizes that were raffled in the school hall. Every child and staff member was also entered in a special raffle to win a lovely Easter hamper, or some other fabulous prizes. In spite of a table full of goodies, Charlie in P4 was delighted to win a coveted solid stainless steel teaspoon! (A St Patrick's tradition that brings a smile to all our faces).

Your support has made a real difference, and we are incredibly proud of what we achieved together.

Maith sibh!
