We welcomed Bishop Alan to our parish to celebrate the holy sacrament of confirmation with our P7s this afternoon. The children have been preparing busily over the last number of weeks and it all paid off, as things ran smoothly.
Bishop Alan talked about the importance of remembering the vows taken during the service and to help with this talked about five saints on the fingers of your hand. St Josephine Bakhita, St Francis of Assisi, St Maximilian Kolbe, St Therese of Lisieux and St Peter. All of these saints are worth reading about when you get a chance as their stories explained the renewal of baptismal promises made by the confirmandi during the service.
We all enjoyed some refreshments and treats in the school hall afterwards and Bishop Alan stayed for some photos too.

Thanks to the children who formed the choir for their beautiful singing and to all of our staff for their hard work preparing the children, setting up the school hall and helping with everything such a special school and parish occasion takes.
