The P6 classroom was buzzing with excitement as the children worked with Izak 9, and it didn’t take long to see why everyone was smiling. From the very first task, it felt more like an adventure than a lesson.
Working with Izak 9 and listening to the instructions from Abacus and Helix, P6 were challenged to think differently, work together, and solve their first task creatively.
Team Captains were agreed and that was quickly followed by moments of deep thinking, bursts of laughter, and plenty of “Aha!” moments as ideas finally clicked into place. While the first task took two attempts (listening IS getting better), they loved how hands-on the task was. Instead of just listening, they were building, discussing, testing ideas, and learning from each other. Everyone had a chance to share their thoughts, and no idea was ever dismissed.
By the end of the task, P6 agreed on one thing: using Izak 9 made them feel confident, capable, and excited about problem-solving. They had to Plan, Do, Review and Make Sense - and this can be carried over to many elements of the curriculum.
